We have a vision: within the next couple years, Big Tech won’t be the default way to connect online. Instead, there will be a new ecosystem of apps and sites, ones that are open and interoperable but also personal and contextual. The next generation of the web will give users agency over their data and their experiences online.

That’s why we’re calling this project habitat. Humans have built and shaped homes for themselves for thousands of years, and we deserve to have that capability in our digital spaces too.
